July Favourites

Hello everybody! I have been really excited about discussing my favourites over July. I must admit, it has been a varied range from books to skincare so there is lots to discuss! I have been very excited to discuss some new products I have discovered along with some oldies but goodies. So, lets get started!

1.
Books, Books and Books?

This month I have really got back into reading, so much more than I even have before. I feel reading is a brilliant way of losing yourself in something and letting your imagination run wild. I find romantic novels to be my favourite genre - I'm a bit of a sucker for a bit of romance! Also, with books I adore second hand books, purely as I hate the thought of books getting forgotten sat on shelves, we really should treasure them before technology wipes them out completely. This month I re-read one of my all time favourites - 'Me Before You' by Jojo Moyes. Now, I'm sure you'll all have seen the movie hit the screens last month (I think it was...!) but my goodness the book is not be forgotten. It still to this day is the first and only book that has ever made me sob so much that I doubted if I had any tears left. Beautiful story and if you haven't read it - I highly recommend it! I'm almost finishing the book 'You're The One That I Want' by Giovanna Fletcher - which I will be doing a full review on because I am loving it.

2.
Coconut Hand Cleanse Gel - The Body Shop.

Okay, I admit - it's an odd one for me to add in this months favourites - however, I can defend myself. Personally, my hands don't react well to frequent use of soap so I tend to use hand sanitise gel rather than soaps. Therefore, to me, this is a product to get really excited about! Coconut is one of my all time favourite scents especially in beauty products so this receives a great thumbs up from me. They also do this product in lots of different scents (and it's 3 for 2!).

3.
All Day Luminous Foundation - NARS
Yes, yes, I admit I've mentioned this a million and one times to you guys, but can you blame me? I used to use this foundation (admittedly in the wrong shade - back when I was more tanned) about a year ago. Then for some reason I simply changed and forgot entirely about its existence. In my last visit to Space NK, I purchased a new bottle (in the right shade - might I add) and I have fallen back in love with this. I remember not feeling too confident on it the first time round, but now I can't see myself changing any time soon. I purchased this in the shade Mont Blanc which has lovely yellow tones to it. The coverage is fantastic and plus, It comes with a pump - I'm sure you'll all know the struggle I'm talking about!

4.
Micellar Cleansing Water - Garnier

I have heard SO much discussion about this product all over blogs and twitter, especially over the last few weeks. When I was walking around boots, I saw it and thought I would give it a try. Now, for someone like me who is so against using make-up wipes as they irritate my skin too much - this was beyond exciting to try. Usually I use the Clinique 'Take The Day Off Milk', which I must admit I am slightly put off since using this product. This is extremely gentle on my skin and I love the consistency with it being liquid based rather than a wipe or cream. When I say it removes all make-up, I really mean it - it truly is magical!

5.
Botanical Kinetics Toning Mist - Aveda

I cannot wait to tell you about this product, I have been looking forward to discussing this product most of all as it is simply fantastic. I went into Aveda a few weeks ago (as you know, I'm a bit of an Aveda addict!) and picked up this product on a whim really, mostly intrigued. I still, out of habit, apply this by spraying it onto a cotton pad and apply all over my skin rather than spraying directly on the face. The feeling is incredible! I mean, beyond fantastic. The scent is truly heavenly and your skin feels instantly cool and refreshed. The result is extremely soft skin and removes any excess product on your face, I would recommend this all day long. Definitely the best toner I have ever purchased.

6.
Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask - Origins

I remember this product was given to me in an Origins gift set at Christmas and I really did love it and never got around to re-purchasing. Whilst I was in House Of Fraser [www.houseoffraser.co.uk] recently, I saw it on the shelf and thought I'd give it a try again. I am so glad I purchased this, I have been using it around twice a week and the best part is that you can leave it overnight with no worries of rinsing off. The effect it has on your skin is fantastic and leaves it baby soft.

7.
Coconut Water Weightless Hydration Oil - OGX

I am a huge fan of OGX products, aside from all the other benefits, the scents are beautiful. I apply this product when I come out the shower onto damp towel dried hair and my hair feels so much healthier and extremely hydrated leaving a lovely scent on my hair too (And...it's coconut so of course I will love it!).

8.
Foot Relief - Aveda

This product was given to me from my hairdressing salon [Aveda] as a free sample for spending over a certain amount. Which in itself is depressing for my bank statement, but great for me! I thought I'd give this a try and I apply it each evening and my feet have become a lot softer. I will admit, as I got this towards the end of July I haven't tried this for long enough to discuss the results it achieves, but I am impressed from what I have tried so far! The consistency is very light and smells lovely.

9.
Happy Happy Shower Gel - LUSH

Absolute triumph from LUSH as per. I do love their shower gels, however, I think this has become my favourite. I purchased it about a month or so ago but never really used this particular one. However, this month I have become addicted! The smell is sweet grapefruit and a thick consistency so a small amount lasts all over. I really like this scent, very happy!

10.
Colour Conserve Shampoo & Conditioner - Aveda

Guilty as charged, another product from Aveda. It has dominated the favourites this month, but can you blame me? Their products are beyond incredible. I recently had my hair done at the Aveda salon, which was brilliant and the colour they achieved for my hair was such a gorgeous rich chocolate brunette. Whilst I was having my hair done, my hairdresser used this on my hair and this is where my love for these products begun. All Aveda products are plant based and therefore make your hair feel so healthy. They are slightly pricey, however, well worth it in my opinion for locking in the colour.

So there we have it, my July favourites! I hope you all enjoyed reading these and please be sure to comment your July favourites posts below or any recommendations so I can check them out!

  1. You have a beautiful blog!! I love the book Me Before You, I read it earlier this year I think although I haven’t seen the film yet. I love when people include books in favourite videos. Have a great weekend! :-) xx
